Mary Pat Keys was Born in Philadelphia, PA to parents John T. Keys and Sarah E. Tunney. She was Sister to Eileen, Sally and Kathleen. Aunt and friend to numerous nieces and nephews. She shared her life with Rocky Ciliberto and loved pup, Charlie.
Mary Pat (Sister Robert Kathleen) was a nun with the Sister of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia. She taught grade school at Saint Anne Elementary in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It has been said that a teacher's words of encouragement can change a child's life. Daniel Roebuck, a successful Hollywood actor, writer, director and producer, in hundreds of projects in film, television and theater was her student when Mary taught first grade. Dan recalled in a recent Catholic publication how after he shared his idea for a play, she replied, "Danny, I would love to see your play". He said those seven simple words transformed him from a dreamer of dreams to a maker of dreams. I was no longer a thinker, I was a doer thanks to this special lady".
We are all heartbroken that Mary Pat had to go through a ferocious battle, but it gave us peace knowing that she is now at rest. We will desperately miss the conversations and visits that we so enjoyed with her. Mary Pat led a rich and varied life in which she touched the hearts and minds of all who knew her.
Her accomplishments were numerous. Mary had a masters in theology and also a degree in accounting. Mary was very gracious and humble. She loved her family and took delight in hearing what everyone was up to. We will miss your great laugh and your sisters will miss your visits staying over and laughing like teenagers.
Mary Pat was truly a rare human being and we were very lucky to have had her in our lives.
Bye for now Mary Pat. See you later.
