January 23, 1932 ~ January 7, 2022 (age 89)

Obituary

Elizabeth Jane “Betty” (Kolb) Saenz Marucci Watson, a longtime resident of Bensalem, went to Heaven on Friday, January 7, 2022 at the age of 89 years old;  just 16 days short of her 90th birthday.

She was the middle child of John and Mabel (Alexander) Kolb of Philadelphia.  She was an active member of the Salvation Army on Allegheny Avenue until it closed.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Saenz of Hulmeville and her second husband, Domenick Marucci of Bensalem.  She is survived by her husband, Hardy Watson of Bensalem; Beloved mother of  Rick (Donna) Saenz of Eagle, WI, Beth Marucci of Langhorne, Barry Marucci of Philadelphia, Juliette Mason, Alex and Rebecca Watson of Bensalem.  Loving step mom to Bill (Jayne) Marucci, MaryLou Winters, Peggy Harbora, Betty Tyrell and Nancy (Anthony) Pinto. Dear sister of  Mabel Zakarosky of Philadelphia and Joyce Watson of Harrisburg.

She was a cherished mom to Mike Grosso, Amber Oliver and Kiki Thomas along with numerous other children throughout her lifetime with Children and Youth, Access and other local foster care agencies.

Adoring grandmother of Megan and Eli (Kaeleen) Saenz, Erinn (Greg) Krumenacher, Luke Reinhardt, Amber and Ashley Marucci, Jimmy and Toby Ellsworth and Layla Watson. Devoted great-grandmother of  Bella, Roman and Jack.

Betty enjoyed playing and giving piano lessons, especially to Alex.  She liked sewing and crocheting.  She worked hard to earn her Real Estate License as well as her License Practical Nurse degree.  Due to her difficult childhood, her real love was being a foster parent as this was a way for her to make a difference for other children.

Interment will be held privately on Friday, Jan. 14, 2022 at Resurrection Cemetery on Hulmeville Road in Bensalem.  Since it is unsafe to gather together at this time, a celebration of life service will be held at a later time.
