Celebrating the Life of Ronald C. O’Shea

Ronald C. O’Shea, age 92, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2026, surrounded by the family that was the center of his world.

While the world knew him as a dedicated family man of faith, those closest to him knew him by the boundless kindness of his heart and the gentle spirit he brought to every room.

A Legacy of Devotion

Ron’s life was a masterclass in commitment. He was the beloved husband of the late Anne E. (nee Cutter), with whom he shared 62 beautiful years of marriage. Theirs was a love story built on simple, meaningful moments: quiet walks through state parks, shared pews at Our Lady of Calvary, the salty air of Cape May, and the smooth rhythms of jazz at the Kimmel Center. He missed Anne dearly since her passing in 2024, and his family finds comfort knowing they are reunited.

The Heart of a Father and Grandfather

For Ron, family wasn’t just a priority—it was his greatest joy. He was a cherished father to Brian (Alicia), Kevin (Barbara), and Kathleen (Robert) Coleman.

He was the devoted grandfather of Nicholas (Sarina), Katrina (Trevohr), Devon, Connor, Ian, Brendon, Kelsey, and Kaleb, and the loving great-grandfather of Oliver, Rowan, and Wes. To his grandchildren, "Poppy” was a constant source of warmth, wisdom, and steady encouragement.

A Life Well-Lived

• A Man of Faith: A longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Calvary, Ron’s faith guided his gentle nature.

• The Ultimate Fan: Whether he was cheering for the Phillies or rooting for the Eagles, his passion for Philadelphia sports was infectious.

• A Kind Brother: Dear brother of the late Jack (the late Agnes), Tom, and Bob (the late Terry). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will remember him for his generous spirit.
