Naylor-Barrett, Phyllis Mary (nee Hogan).
Phyllis passed away peacefully on October 3, 2019. She was 86 and suffered from Alzheimer's Disease in her later years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She graduated from Little Flower High School, and was longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Calvary Church. She had a warm and generous spirit and could always make us laugh with her quick wit. She loved Irish dancing, time at the shore with family and her wonderful girlfriends affectionately referred to as "Sorority". While usually quiet and avoided the spotlight, every once in awhile she could be coaxed into singing the tune "Second Hand Rose".
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe & Marie Hogan, infant brother Gerald, and her first husband John Naylor, to whom she was married for 37 years.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Jack Barrett to whom she has been married for the last 24 years. Her children Maureen Gordon, Michael Naylor, Barbara Peck and Bernie, Tim Naylor and Karen. Her step children Maryann Beatty and Bernie, Bridget Patterson and Richard, Melissa Desmond and Brian. Her brother Joe Hogan and Florence, her sister Maureen Duffy and Tom.
She was adored by her grandchildren Megan Kollock (Dan), Marita Fanus (Brian), Michael Gordon (John), Patrick Gordon (Colleen), Danny Naylor, Tim Naylor (Jen), Wylie Naylor (April), David Naylor, Bridget Davis (Jeff), Joseph Peck (Abby), Brendan Peck (Kara), Christopher Naylor (Alison), Sean Naylor, Laura Naylor, Caitlin Beatty, Sam Beatty, Maura Patterson, Colin Desmond, and Christopher Desmond. As well as, 13 great-grandchildren and 13 nieces and nephews.
Our mother lived her life with a strong faith, and we are joyful and comforted knowing she has returned home with both a healthy mind and body. We know she remembers us and how important she was in each of our lives.
Relatives & friends are invited to offer condolences to her family Tuesday 9-10:45 AM at Our Lady of Calvary Church 11024 Knights Road. Funeral Mass 11AM. Rite of Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
